Olympic Couples Strike Gold

Our Favourite GB Olympic Couples

We all love a LOVE STORY

Laura Trott and Jason Kenny

The ultimate golden couple, with five golds between them, made their relationship public while watching beach volleyball with David Beckham at London 2012. It prompted one observer to say British Cycling had thought of everything to produce champions. The relationship between the two began in the build-up to London 2012, with Kenny about to come out of Chris Hoy's muscled shadow at his second Olympics and Trott about to experience her first

Kate Richardson-Walsh and Helen Richardson-Walsh (hockey)

The pair tied the knot in 2013, the year after winning bronze in the London Olympics, and became the first married gay couple to compete at the Games. This is skipper Kate, 36, and 34-year-old Helen’s fourth Olympics together.

Chris Adcock and Abby Adcock (badminton)

The Adcock's, one of the favourites for gold in the mixed doubles, married in 2013 and it has proven to be a match made in heaven. They won the first tournament they competed in on returning from honeymoon and went on to take gold at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in 2014

Siobhan O'Conner & Chris Hebborn-Walker

The Bath-based swimmers are a long-time couple. Walker-Hebborn is the tattooed north Londoner and O’Connor was born in Bath and raised in Keynsham, south of Bristol. She made her Olympic debut at London 2012,
aged 16.

Bristol International Balloon Fiesta 2016

From time to time my work takes me to different parts of the UK, recently I travelled to the South West for a consultation for a 2018 wedding and whilst there I was lucky enough to visit the
Bristol International Balloon Fiesta.

before the nightglow

I have been to the festival previously to see the nightglow, which is a great event where after what must be much preparation hot air balloons light up the night sky along to music.

On this occasion I was visiting to watch the final mass ascent, where over 100 balloons take to the sky, such an awesome sight.

This year was a little different though, seemingly Bristol International Balloon Fiesta seems to be the go to destination for Brides and Grooms.

Up, Up, and Away they go!!!

One Happy couple even travelled all the way from China to have their photos taken in a hot air balloon. Chloe apparently had visited the Balloon fiesta previously as a student at Bristol university.

So if you have a head for heights, then maybe this is for you!

The balloon fiesta is a must see event, it is held annually, so if you would like to know more please check out their website below.
