Christmas Weddings

I cannot believe that its nearly that time of year again. I love Christmas, there is almost something  magical in the air. If I hadn't have chosen the summer time to marry I think a Christmas Wedding would have been my second choice, I would imagine a cosy indoor venue, with a Christmas Tree, beautiful fireplace as a backdrop, the soft glow of candles .............

here are just a few of the beautiful Christmas idea's that I have found.

I love the way this cake has been made to look like two presents

I love the green bridesmaids dresses, they work really well with a Christmas wedding theme

What a lovely touch for each guest, or just the main wedding party

of course you could always move away from the traditional Christmas colours of red and green, Gold and silvers look equally stunning

or

If your feeling bold why not try this combination of Gold and Purple, I love the way they have hung the baubles from the ceiling.
Of course other combinations that are popular are silver and white, light blue and silver.

When it comes to sending out the invitations for your Christmas wedding, as its a busy time of year for most people, make sure that you send them out at least 4 months prior.

For the bridesmaids, its a perfect opportunity to incorporate faux fur shrugs, muffs, long dresses with beautiful wraps and sparkly accessories.

As a bride, again what better excuse to bling up your dress, lots of sparkle and glitter is in order. Again, finish off your perfect dress with a red cape, or faux fur shrug, or if you wish to be a little daring why not go with a beautiful red or deep burgundy wedding dress?

A small selection of ideas

And what a perfect way to complete your look but with some
 festive nail art!

Are you Enchanted by Fairies?

Are Enchanted by Fairies?

Ever since I was a little girl I have always had a fascination with Fairies. Think it goes back to when my mum used to read me the stories about the "flower fairies" - in fact they were also the first books that I read to my daughters when they were young. Besides what little girl doesn't love a bit of magic and fairy dust?

Here are a few ideas to inspire your magical fairytale,
enchanted theme

There are different ways to do a fairy wedding, from over the top to simple and elegant. The idea is to give your wedding and venue a feel full of magic and possibility. This theme is perfect if you are choosing an outdoor wedding especially in a beautiful woodland or garden.

Decorate with soft lighting, tea lights hung in
small jars are perfect.

Its amazing if you are crafty minded what you could create, personal touches always go down well

When considering colour's for your theme, try and keep them natural, close to nature but of a soft pallette, such as soft greens, lavender, deep purples or even burgundy reds - great if its an autumn (fall) wedding

Alfred Angelo also do a beautiful range of fantasy princess dresses, they have both uk and american websites.

For wedding invitations and place cards, why not choose a beautiful swirled font or even better find someone who is a calligraphy artist.

I totally fell in love with this floral work as soon as I saw it,  care of :

Winter Wedding Inspiration Part 2

Back by popular demand is another of my features on Winter Weddings. I think if I had the opportunity to choose my favourite theme for a wedding it would be a winter wedding theme.

The most important aspect of a winter wedding is obviously the colour - White, although there is still room for a little colour. Accents of light blue, silver or a deep red give an element of romance.

Add to that lighting, twinkling lights all around and starlight backdrops. Don't forget that lighting always sets the mood, so its a good idea to get a lighting expert to create the atmosphere for you.

Centrepieces of branches, whether they are plain or have been  sprayed silver or white, draped with beautiful crystals always look stunning and will become a talking theme.
Add to that tablecloths sprinkled with silver and gold confetti or crystals and a few snowflakes delicately hung from the ceiling or certain spots around the venue.

All these elements put together will create a magical atmosphere for your wedding.

With a winter wedding its the perfect excuse to add bling to everything, anything that sparkles will always catch the eye.

Gorgeous fur shrugs added to your dress not only keep you warm when it turns cold, they also give your dress a real winter wedding look.
