White Rose Weddings soon to go International

As a Wedding Planner in the UK it is often difficult to break down the misconceptions of what we do as our job. In the USA Wedding brides are more likely to approach a Wedding Planner to assist with the organisation of their big day.

Nowadays with families being spread all over the world more couples are looking to destination weddings. I would love to offer this service to my brides in the UK, to this I feel the best way to do this would be to team up with Planners in other countries.

I often talk to other Wedding Planners especially in the USA, they are often a great support and we are able to share some really useful and informative tips. So I have had the idea that one of the things that I will be looking further into in the near future is organising Destination Weddings. My first step is to contact other planners in the USA and other countries with the view to teaming up with them and working with them to assist couples in the UK organise their big day abroad. Likewise the planners that I team up with will also be able to refer couples to me to assist them if they are wanting to plan their big day in the UK.
I have already had a couple of promising conversations and have arranged a meeting with lovely Event Planner in Florida, so watch this space - White Rose Weddings may soon be going International!

Fridays Feature - Little Nippers Event Sitters

One of the things I pride myself on as a Wedding Planner is making sure that I get out and meet the suppliers or businesses that I am going to work with or recommend. I think its one of the most important things, after all by meeting them face to face, looking at the quality of their work, just basically getting a overall feel for them, make it easier when brides come along for me to find the suppliers that will fit them best, both practically and financially.
Everything even including the cakes - well they have to sampled don't they? for quality purposes of course - ok its a tough job but someone has to do it.  Its so important for me to make sure that the businesses or suppliers that I do recommend are reputable and reliable after all my reputation relies on it.

I have unfortunately had too many brides come to me because they have been let down at the last hour or the dress they paid for off " a supplier they discovered on facebook" offering great dresses at such bargain prices turns out to be a fake who has in reality duped them and run off with their hard earned money, I guess I feel that when it comes to my brides I have a duty of care to them, to make sure they are looked after.

Anyway Yesterday I had a meeting with two wonderful ladies Emily & Jordon who have set up an event sitting service called Little Nippers.

They provide a quality childcare for weddings and other events in the way of a mobile creche service and babysitting service.

Their staff will happily babysit your children at the venue where the event is being held, so the children can be tucked up in bed whilst you can continue to dance the night away and enjoy the evening reception in full without feeling that you have to turn in early and miss out on all the fun.
Now I know that is something that would have certainly appealed to me at various family weddings or parties. To know that I could still enjoy the evening in the knowledge that my children were safe and being looked after. All staff are experienced, have CRB checks in place as well as first aid certification.

Alternatively they can set up a dedicated play area in another room for children in attendance and keep them occupied - perfect for when the speeches are going on.

So if you would like to know more please check out their website

Lily Of The Valley - Inspiration

In the Victorian-era language of flowers these perennials mean “return of happiness, trustworthiness, and sweetness.”
They also make gorgeous wedding flowers because of they are so delicate and pretty.
Whether in a bouquet, centerpiece, hairpiece, on a cake, or used as inspiration for a gown or piece of jewelry. These elegant blooms are fit for a princess, both Grace Kelly & Kate Middleton’s entire bouquet was made from lily of the valley flowers!

 perfect for delicate decor

Beautiful hair accessories

A pretty idea for favours

Groom Zone

This week we are focussing on the Groom and his party, formal wear or a more casual look?

Highland Wear
Frock Coat

Moss Bros Black Fine Herringbone Morningwear Coat
Classic Morning Suit

Above we have the usual and most popular looks, well especially here in the UK, but what if you fancy adding a little of your own personality to your look?

Here are a few ideas what do you think?

Why not let your Grooms men lose their jackets and substitute them with sweaters instead, coupled with matching ties can give a smart but more casual look.

What about a light coloured suit

If you fancy a bit of fun on your wedding day then you will love as I do the quirkiness of the grooms men's T shirts

I love these fun alternative buttonholes

What about matching our socks to your shirts and ties

Coloured Converse

Another great idea, why not ask your grooms men to decorate and personalise their own canvas shoes?

If you are looking for formal suit hire in the UK then check out http://www.moss.co.uk/pws/hire/
They provide hire at a reasonable price and often offer discounts where the groom gets his suit hire free. They also offer the opportunity of your grooms men being able to be measured and fitted at their nearest branch for convenience.
