Barn Wedding Inspiration

I love Barn Weddings! I think of all the kind of weddings there are I have fallen in love with the relaxed rustic charm of a Barn Wedding.
Barns are often a great blank canvas for you to stamp your own identity on, perfect for those brides who too love shabby chic style.
The great thing about a barn wedding is that you can really keep things simple, with jam jars and tins for your flower centrepieces, ribbons on chairs, bunting, pom poms, fairylights and lanterns.

Below I have posted some of my favourite ideas.

Homemade: Vintage Clock Inspired | Barn Wedding

Jessica Ennis & Andy Hill tie the knot!

White Rose Weddings would like to offer our congratulations to Jessica Ennis and Mark hill on their recent wedding.

Jessica Ennis married her long term boyfriend Andy Hill last weekend, they have been together for around 8 yrs
As she arrived to marry fiance Andy Hill at a church in the Peak District, near her hometown Sheffield the crowd applauded.

The Jessica wore a V-necked, sleeveless ivory silk gown with a ruffled tulle skirt and a full-length veil and carried a small posy of cream and pale pink roses by monique lhuillier.
Mr Hill wore a dark grey morning suit, with a pink tie and handkerchief.
Around 100 guests gathered for the hour-long service at the 14th Century Church of St Michael and All Angels, in Hathersage.

Real Bride - The Wedding of Mr & Mrs Greenland

The Bride and Groom, Holly & Jeff certainly picked an unusual venue for their wedding, but after spending several dates there Bristol Zoo had always held a special place in their hearts. It is hard to imagine getting married at a zoo, but luckily for them they have the beautiful Clifton Pavillions where you can hold your ceremony and reception

The 12th of April was rather a wet day, but we were not going to let it dampen anyone's spirit, after all despite all the planning in the world you cannot do anything about the weather. Obviously if you are getting married outdoors its always best to have a back up plan, especially if your over here in the UK.

So after rustling up a hearty breakfast for everyone it was time to get ready, first to arrive was the hairdresser, Holly had already had a run through, which might I add is essential so on the day Lisa knew exactly what Holly wanted. Shortly afterwards the Make up lady - also called Lisa arrived. I must add that they were both great, very friendly and professional and did a super job.

Holly opted for comfort rather than fashion on her wedding day, so she bought some comfy converse in her favourite colour Pink! and had them decorated with gems, she even had the date added which I thought was a really nice touch

Her dress was beautiful, decorated with lace.

Holly chose beautiful pink and white Gerbera's and cream roses for her bouquets they were beautifully put together by a local florist.

Just to add a different twist a Campervan by the name of Dennis was the wedding transport for the day, courtesy of comfy campers nr bristol.

The wedding venue looked beautiful all decked out in pink and white, this was done by enchanted weddings of bristol

One really fun element to the wedding was these fabulous balloons, I can assure you they were a real focal point and to some extent nearly stole the show! they provided great amusement for all the guests and the children simply loved them

 And So the Ceremony begins.......

Holly was escorted down the aisle by her brother Chris

The couple said their vows which they had written themselves
and brought a tear to everyones eyes

Signing of the register

Then it was reception time. I am proud to say that I also made the sweet centrepieces for the tables

It ended up being fairly amusing as the guests later got into a bidding war with the sweets, trying to swap sweets from their centrepiece for others at different tables.
The tables were also named after penguins, another of the brides favourite things.
Personalised egg cups were favours for the guests, although the size of the cadbury creme eggs seems to have shrunk rather so alas they did not sit properly in the cups. Still a small detail which I do not think the guests were too bothered by.

I often find that brides worry so much about all the little touches, but at the end of the day the guests are there to see you and your groom say your vows, that is the most important thing and everything else is extra.

Another great idea was that the couple bought the groomsmen and best men a cartoon in a frame, such a great idea

Then it was time to go off around the Zoo for photos

I am not sure who let this one in?

I will shortly be asking the bride for some more feedback on her day and to give some useful tips and ideas.

Wedding Fair Fun

Wedding Fairs or Fayres as some call them are always fun and a challenge to organise. This year I decided to work with a local venue called the White Horse Lodge Hotel.

The Hotel is a lovely fairly modern hotel just on the outskirts of Thirsk and has the beautiful backdrop of Sutton Bank. The staff at the hotel have been so kind and have assisted me with some of the preparations.
On the day there will be some wonderful local exhibitors all hand picked because they offer a top quality service, great value for money and always go the extra mile for their clients.

There will be a bridal catwalk show organised by Clare of Little Quackers in Thirsk, they along with Brides & Belles Northallerton will be showcasing some fabulous dresses and outfits Arty Party will be showcasing balloon art, centrepieces and venue decor. All Cool Classic Campers will be with us too, showcasing their camper vans - they are certainly a great way to bring something a little different for your day. Rhian of Celebrate Country Cake Design will be joining us, her cakes are certainly something special, they are probably the some of the nicest cakes I have ever tasted, based in Helmsley she was an obvious choice. Now you cannot have a catwalk show without some music, so we have a real treat awaiting you, not only will Darren Kirk of Freedom Discos be with us, Will Rawlings a great Cabaret vocalist will be performing live throughout the day. If you have not yet sorted out favours for your guests Jodie will have a table of her delicious truffles, a must on the day - make sure you go over and taste them! http://www.trufflesbyjodie.com/ if your not wanting favours they also make a great gift for mum or with fathers day coming up I am sure she will be happy to help. looking for someone to capture your big day? We have Nikki R Photo and AAE Photography, both excellent photographers who offer great packages, don't forget these photographs will be a permanent reminder and bring back memories for years to come, so its worth hiring a great photographer.
Looking for something Magical? then pop over and see Martin Waring, he has tricks that I am still trying to figure out "how does he do that" he is sure to keep your guests entertained during the day.
If your after a stunning wedding bouquet or something that will be a real talking point at your wedding, visit Jane of Wedding and Events Floral Design.  If its beauty or hair you are needing to book, then Call of Beauty & Kims FM Cosmetics - Run by Stefanie & Kim they are a great team and will make sure you look stunning. Watkins Wright Hairdressing will be exhibiting and along with Stefanie and Kim will be working hard to make sure our catwalk models look great.

Last but not least White Rose Weddings, Celebrations & Events  we will be there to offer advice and showcase our planning and co-ordination packages. I will also be holding a sale of beautiful Tiaras - everything must go, so if your looking for something beautiful to go with your dress then come over and grab a bargain.

A big Thank you must also go out to Sarah and her team at  Kiss the Bride Magazine, they will be assisting us with registration and handing out the goody bags to our brides.

So if you still have not registered please visit http://wednorthyorksweddingfair.eventbrite.co.uk/
