Wedding Fair Fun

Wedding Fairs or Fayres as some call them are always fun and a challenge to organise. This year I decided to work with a local venue called the White Horse Lodge Hotel.

The Hotel is a lovely fairly modern hotel just on the outskirts of Thirsk and has the beautiful backdrop of Sutton Bank. The staff at the hotel have been so kind and have assisted me with some of the preparations.
On the day there will be some wonderful local exhibitors all hand picked because they offer a top quality service, great value for money and always go the extra mile for their clients.

There will be a bridal catwalk show organised by Clare of Little Quackers in Thirsk, they along with Brides & Belles Northallerton will be showcasing some fabulous dresses and outfits Arty Party will be showcasing balloon art, centrepieces and venue decor. All Cool Classic Campers will be with us too, showcasing their camper vans - they are certainly a great way to bring something a little different for your day. Rhian of Celebrate Country Cake Design will be joining us, her cakes are certainly something special, they are probably the some of the nicest cakes I have ever tasted, based in Helmsley she was an obvious choice. Now you cannot have a catwalk show without some music, so we have a real treat awaiting you, not only will Darren Kirk of Freedom Discos be with us, Will Rawlings a great Cabaret vocalist will be performing live throughout the day. If you have not yet sorted out favours for your guests Jodie will have a table of her delicious truffles, a must on the day - make sure you go over and taste them! http://www.trufflesbyjodie.com/ if your not wanting favours they also make a great gift for mum or with fathers day coming up I am sure she will be happy to help. looking for someone to capture your big day? We have Nikki R Photo and AAE Photography, both excellent photographers who offer great packages, don't forget these photographs will be a permanent reminder and bring back memories for years to come, so its worth hiring a great photographer.
Looking for something Magical? then pop over and see Martin Waring, he has tricks that I am still trying to figure out "how does he do that" he is sure to keep your guests entertained during the day.
If your after a stunning wedding bouquet or something that will be a real talking point at your wedding, visit Jane of Wedding and Events Floral Design.  If its beauty or hair you are needing to book, then Call of Beauty & Kims FM Cosmetics - Run by Stefanie & Kim they are a great team and will make sure you look stunning. Watkins Wright Hairdressing will be exhibiting and along with Stefanie and Kim will be working hard to make sure our catwalk models look great.

Last but not least White Rose Weddings, Celebrations & Events  we will be there to offer advice and showcase our planning and co-ordination packages. I will also be holding a sale of beautiful Tiaras - everything must go, so if your looking for something beautiful to go with your dress then come over and grab a bargain.

A big Thank you must also go out to Sarah and her team at  Kiss the Bride Magazine, they will be assisting us with registration and handing out the goody bags to our brides.

So if you still have not registered please visit http://wednorthyorksweddingfair.eventbrite.co.uk/

In order to promote our Wedding Fair, we held a photo shoot on location at the hotel,  the sun shone for us and it was a beautiful day, so come and join us at this lovely venue for their very first wedding fair.

Rainbow Inspired Weddings

Lets be honest, Everyone loves a little bit of colour, but ever thought of having a wedding featuring the colours of the rainbow.

There are so many ways that they can be incorporated into your day, it is also a great way to cater for the bridesmaids, it gives them a chance to express their individuality, so a great way to keep everyone happy.  we all know which colours suit us best don't we?

How about this look for a countryside or festival wedding theme?

I simply love the simplicity of the the chair ribbons, simple yet effective

This bride has not only let her bridesmaids choose their colour but also the style of dress

Here the bride has kept the main dress colours the same but has been creative with the flowers, shoes and accessories.  This is one of my favourite looks.

There are so many ways that you can decorate your venue too!

So why not brighten up your big day and add a splash of colour?

If you would like any information or ideas on how to create a Rainbow themed Wedding please get in touch or check out our website White Rose Weddings

Arty Party

Arty Party is based in Thirsk and is the one stop shop for all your wedding and party needs. Chair covers, centrepieces, or balloons, whatever you need to transform your venue then you will find it here. Sharon is a certified balloon artist with many years experience, you have to see her creations to believe it. Inspired By Script

Inspired by Script is run by the wonderful Sue Simpson, a professional calligrapher and lettering artist who has a lovely gallery located just off the high street in Northallerton.
Her work is unique and for the bride who is looking for some stunning wedding stationary then look no further. With everything from invitations, place cards, save the dates and seating plans to wedding post boxes. One thing I feel is really important when looking for wedding stationary is to always check the quality. I hear from too many brides who see a bargain on the internet and think they are going to save money, when in reality when their order arrives the work is substandard, sometimes even printed in the wrong language! then have to spend more money on getting things re-done.
So make sure you go over and meet Sue and see her wonderful work. I cannot recommend her highly enough, if you can't get to the wedding fair, then make sure you pop into her gallery.

MacVean Videography

What better way to capture the memories of your special day than to have it on film. Sarah Macvean has been filming special occasions for 6 years, she offers a friendly but professional service with a variety of bespoke packages.
From the start of your day right up to the end of your day she can capture all those special moments for you to relive over and over again for years to come. I highly recommend her work as her videos are simply stunning.
Again pop over and say hello

White Rose Weddings - Wedding Trends for 2013

White Rose Wedding Trends for 2013

2013 is the year where we see couples wanting to personalise their day more and making it stand out. With so many options available anything goes. So its time to think outside of the box and be creative.

Colour

This year here in the UK think more sage/mint greens, purples and dusky pinks.

In the US

Style
More weddings will be less Shabby Chic and more Elegant in style.

Patterns
This year patterns are going to be popular, from stripes and dots to delicate floral and bold patterns. These will be seen more and more within the venue decor, tablecloths, runners and even backdrops.

If your bridegroom to really wanting to be a little different? this year give our men the chance to be a little more adventurous.

or even your bridesmaids

Lace

After last years Royal Wedding lace will be more popular with brides opting for elegant dresses just like Kate Middletons.

Fun

In 2013 couples will be putting even more emphasis on fun. With more couples are going for options, such as sweet tables, popcorn stands and ice cream vans. Personalised cocktails are becoming more popular.

Outdoors

More and more couples are falling in love with the idea of outdoor weddings and saying their vows surrounded by nature. This year these will become increasingly popular. In the UK as the weather is always so  I would always suggest that your venue has
a back up plan. Popular choices are Tents and Tipi weddings.
